ABOUT US
HISTORY

Grace Haitian Baptist Church (GHBC) was founded in August 2010 in the vibrant city of Houston, Texas, a
place where many migrants have come to build their new lives. GHBC was established to meet the unique
needs of the Haitian Christian community in Houston, giving them a dedicated space to worship God in the rich
and expressive ways familiar to Haitian culture. The church was founded not just as a place of worship but as a
sanctuary where Haitian immigrants could feel at home, connect with their roots, and share in a community of
faith and fellowship.
Over the years, GHBC has become more than just a church; it has blossomed into a tightly-knit community and
family-oriented institution, deeply involved in the lives of its members. Recognizing that faith goes beyond
Sunday worship, GHBC has worked tirelessly to support the needs of its congregation, providing spiritual
guidance, community support, and programs designed to help both new migrants and longtime residents
navigate the complexities of life in a new country.
The growth of the Haitian community in Houston has been accompanied by a surge in the church’s
membership. Each week, GHBC has been blessed with new members: those affiliating themselves with the
church family, as well as those who have discovered a renewed relationship with Christ through the ministries
at GHBC. This increase in attendance reflects the church’s deep commitment to outreach and its welcoming
environment that resonates with all who enter. GHBC’s dedication to the gospel and its mission has fostered a
strong sense of belonging and purpose among its members.
However, with this exciting growth, GHBC now faces a new challenge. The current church facility is no longer
able to accommodate the ever-expanding congregation, which continues to increase in number every week. As
GHBC looks to the future, there is a pressing need for a larger and more capable space where the church can
continue its mission, support its community, and welcome all those seeking a place to worship.
In faith, GHBC is praying for and working towards a new facility that can meet these needs, believing that God
will provide the means for this growth. This journey is not just about expanding physically but also about
deepening the impact of GHBC’s ministry, allowing the church to be a beacon of hope, love, and faith for the
Haitian community and the broader Houston area
VALUES
1. Worship (Celebrating) ”To participate in public.” Joyful worship of God in its services and in all of life inspired by the Holy Spirit in using our time, our gifts, our knowledge, our riches (John 4:24)
2. Evangelism (Cultivating) “To share the good news of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible in our community and throughout the world.” Living demonstration of what God can do in, and for all who will receive Jesus as savior. Be the ambassador of Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 2 Peter 3:9)
3. Ministry/Missions (Caring) ”To serve unselfishly in Jesus’ name, meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those in our Church, community and in the world.” (1 Peter 4:10,11; Matthew 25:34-40; 1 Thessalonians 5:11; Galatians 5:13)
4. Discipleship (Communicating) – ”To help members develop toward full Christian maturity and train them for effective ministry. To promote personal, spiritual growth and discipleship through Bible teaching.” (Ephesians 4:11-13; Matthew 18:20; 2 Timothy 2:1,2)
5.FELLOWSHIP – “To encourage, support and pray for each other as members of the family of God. To share our lives together.” (1 John 1:7; Acts 2:44-47; Hebrews 10:23-25; Romans 15:5-7; John 13:34,35)
6.Prayer -. The first thing the early church did when they assembled was pray together. Prayer is the fuel that drives the ambitious priorities of the church and the spiritual power that changes the world. Christ demonstrated the power of prayer by making it a priority of His earthly ministry. If the Church is going to be effective, it must pray. (Acts 1:14, John 17, I Peter 5:7)
7. Bible-based church..- Every ministry of our church is rooted in God’s Word. The Bible is inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed, and therefore, must be the final authority for everything our church believes and does.

VISION
We envision a church where members are spiritually mature and carry the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Where believers are equipped with the tools they need to overcome sin and remain free from the pollution of the world.
